norm-life:

This video is epic.

I did pole dancing all last year and I loved it. I’m super big on working out in ways that don’t feel like working out. I could never spend an hour on a treadmill or something, I’d go out of my mind. I’d rather spend an hour on a pole or surfboard or a pair of skis or something.

Pros to pole dancing:

-My arms got ripped. I had serious tough girl arms.

-The dancing element made me a lot more aware of my body/more graceful (at least in the studio. I’m forever clumsy otherwise).

-The studio I went to (S Factor) was an empowering environment and really focused on loving your body/being in touch with your “erotic creature” (lololol I know, it’s their terminology and it sounds so weird but it makes sense in the environment. I promise).

Cons:

-It’s hard to do pole tricks on your non-dominant arm, so my right arm got noticeably more ripped than my left.

-It’s pricey$$$.

-Between the pole slides, climbing, and crawling, I always left class really bruised and with pole burn all over my legs. Climbing up and sliding down HURTS.

-Telling my dad I did it was kind of awkward. He’s convinced I “take lessons” at a strip club or something. Nooo! The studio is not sleazy at ALL and there are no men allowed!

I’m going to start back up this fall I think. And I can’t wait to live somewhere without carpeting so I can install a pole ^__^

This is phenomenal ._.
